Heritage Square Museum

3800 Homer Street
Los Angeles
323-225-2700

Established in 1969, this living history museum tells the story of the development of Southern California – from its earliest days as a small pueblo to the bustling metropolis that over 3 million Southern Californians call home today. Through guided tours of eight historic structures and an ever-changing array of exhibits and special events, Heritage Square transports guests back in time to an era when electricity was a novelty, a trip to the beach was often a full-weekend activity, and manners were distinctly different from those of today.

MOTA DAY ACTIVITIES:

  • Visitors can tour the current exhibition “Boyle Heights: Images and Essays: 1850-1900” in the William Hayes Perry Mansion which features photographic panels, historical photographs, prints, drawings, maps, documents and artifacts regarding one of Los Angeles’ oldest neighborhoods

  • Guests can also watch traditional woodcarving (California Carver’s Guild) and blacksmith demonstrations (Adam’s Forge Blacksmiths)

  • Riveting tales from the San Gabriel Valley Storytellers will be told

  • Enjoy dancing and parlor games courtesy of the Victorian Tea and Dance Society

  • The Rose Bowl Riders will have horses on display

  • Children can play with Victorian toys and do crafts

  • Costumed docents will be on hand to answer questions
